Terms of service

The deal, in plain words.

These terms are the agreement between you and Infercia when you use Amigo. By creating an account you accept them.

Who we are

Amigo at ielts.infercia.com is operated by INFERCIA INNOVATION & ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE RESEARCH & CONSULTANCIES CO. L.L.C, a Limited Liability Company (Single Owner) registered with the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism under commercial licence 1383440 (commercial register 2357508), Office 100, B Block, NGI Building, Port Saeed, Deira, Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Contact us at [email protected].

We are not IELTS

Amigo is an independent study tool. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to the British Council, IDP : IELTS Australia or Cambridge University Press & Assessment. “IELTS” is their registered trade mark and is used here only to describe the exam this tool prepares you for.

Every band on this site — the estimate on your dashboard, the marks on your essays and recordings, the result of a mock — is our software’s opinion, produced to help you practise. It is not an official IELTS result and carries no weight with any exam centre, university, employer or immigration authority. We work hard to make the estimates honest, and we cannot promise they will match what a real examiner gives you, or that using Amigo will get you any particular score.

Who can use it

You must be at least 16 and able to enter a contract. One account per person. Keep your sign-in details to yourself — you are responsible for what happens on your account, and you should tell us promptly if you think someone else has got into it.

The free trial

New accounts get 7 days free. It takes no card. The clock starts when you confirm your email address, not when you sign up, and everything in the paid plan is included while it runs.

The trial is one per person. If our checks suggest an address, network or device has already had a free trial, we may shorten the trial rather than refuse it — and if we get that wrong, email us and we will fix it. When the trial ends you keep access to everything you have already done; starting new marked work needs a subscription.

Subscription and payment

One plan, £19.99 per month. The price you see at checkout is the price you pay, inclusive of any sales tax or VAT we are required to charge. It renews automatically each month until you cancel. We take payment through Stripe; your card details never reach our servers.

You can cancel at any time, from the billing portal linked in your settings. Cancelling stops the next payment and you keep full access until the end of the month you have already paid for. We do not charge a cancellation fee.

If a payment fails we may pause new marked work until it succeeds. If we change the price we will tell you at least 30 days beforehand, and you can cancel before it takes effect.

Your right to cancel

If you are a consumer in the UK or the EEA, you normally have 14 days to change your mind — in the UK under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, and in the EEA under the equivalent national rules — starting the day after the contract is made. We give the same 14 days to everyone else, wherever you are.

Because Amigo starts working the moment you subscribe, you are asking us to begin supplying the service straight away. You keep the 14-day right, but if you cancel within it after we have begun, you pay a proportionate amount for what you used. Tell us at [email protected] — a plain message is enough; you do not need a form.

Beyond that, if something is genuinely broken and we cannot put it right, ask us for a refund and we will deal with it fairly. Nothing here affects the statutory rights you have as a consumer where you live — in the UK, that includes your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

Your work is yours

You keep ownership of everything you write, say and upload. You give us permission to store and process it — including sending it to the providers listed in our Privacy Policy — for the sole purpose of running the service for you: marking your work, building your learner model and planning what comes next. We do not use your work to train AI models, and we do not sell it. That permission ends when you delete the work or your account.

What you agree not to do

  • Share your account, or resell access to it.
  • Create accounts in bulk, or evade the trial limits.
  • Scrape, copy or redistribute our practice content, which is ours or licensed to us.
  • Upload anything unlawful, or anything you have no right to share.
  • Attack, overload or probe the service, or work around its rate limits.
  • Use it to cheat in a real exam, or to impersonate someone else in one. Practise with it instead — that is what it is for.

If you break these terms we may suspend or close your account. Where it is fair to do so we will warn you first and give you a chance to put it right.

Availability

We aim to keep Amigo running but cannot promise it will never be unavailable. We may change or remove features as the product develops; if a change materially reduces what you are paying for, you can cancel and we will refund the unused part of that month.

Speech recognition and marking depend on third-party providers. If one of them is down, the parts that need it will not work until it comes back.

Closing your account

You can close your account whenever you like, and ask us to delete your data. We may close an account that breaks these terms, or with 30 days’ notice if we stop offering the service — in which case we will refund whatever you have paid for and not used.

Liability

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot legally be limited — including the consumer rights you have where you live.

Otherwise, and to the extent the law allows, we are not liable for exam results, missed opportunities, lost income or any indirect loss, and our total liability in any 12-month period is limited to what you paid us in that period.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change materially affects you we will tell you in the app at least 30 days beforehand, and you can cancel before it takes effect if you do not accept it.

Law

We are established in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. These terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates as applied in the Emirate of Dubai, and the courts of Dubai have jurisdiction.

If you are a consumer, that does not take anything away from you. You keep every protection that the mandatory consumer law of the country you live in gives you — including, in the UK and the EEA, the cancellation right above and your rights when a digital service is faulty — and you may bring proceedings in your own country’s courts.
